NYSWA Members Call Upon NYS PSC to Reduce Barriers to Deployment

In an October 23rd filing to the New York State Public Service Commission, NYSWA reinforced the contributions of the wireless industry and urged the PSC to “streamline and reduce barriers to the deployment of wireless infrastructure”.

The filing was prepared by Board President, Christopher Fisher of Cuddy& Feder and David Bronston, Board Secretary of Phillips Lytle on behalf of the wireless industry that NYSWA represents.

In addition to NYSWA’s filing with the PSC several telecommunications companies and organizations filed documents urging NY regulators to maintain a “light-touch” regulatory approach toward telecommunications or remove what are sen as additional restrictive measures.

The documents were filed in response to the PSC’s “Study on the State of Telecommunications,” which examines the impact of shifts in communication technology, including voice, video and broadband. The PSC also held several hearings around the state to gather feedback on the study.
