On November 19th NYSWA partnered with The Long Island Association (LIA) for its first-ever Long Island Wireless Forum. NYSWA brought together Long Island’s business community, state and local officials, young professionals, and representatives from the wireless industry who are both personally and professionally based in Long Island. The Forum was very well attended with many of the attendees coming from outside the wireless industry from occupations that touch on or relate to wireless.
The purpose of the Forum was to showcase the future of wireless broadband technology, its present day manifestation, and its innumerable economic and lifestyle benefits. Many communities lack the infrastructure to maintain the kind of connectivity demands and need by consumers for all of the smart technology whose use is growing exponentially. This fact was apparent throughout the days presentations.
The program was introduced by Kevin Law, President of the LIA and the panel discussion which was moderated by Chris Fisher, President of NYSWA, included technology and professional experts working in the IOT (Internet of Things) and wireless field on Long Island. Additional panelists included: Thomas Bianculli, VP Enterprise Technology Office of Zebra Technologies Corporation (Holtsville), Jake Rasweiler, CEO of Sublime Wireless (Syosset), Neil MacDonald, AIA LEED AP Parnter of William F. Collins (Setauket), David Chauvin, VP Zimmerman Edelson, Inc. (Great Neck).
The programming was very well received by both attendees and delivered by the panelist professionals. NYSWA is proud to have hosted this new event on Long Island and looks forward to new Long Island business community members.
The presentation and a full listing of panelists and their bio’s can be found on NYSWA’s Resource Library.
